Unit 4 – Addition, Subtraction & Measurement

Addition of Three-Digit Numbers – Type in numbers between 1 and 999 to add. Numbers are automatically entered into an equation; base ten pieces are created to match. If ten or more pieces are in any column, you must push the “regroup” button to continue solving the problem.

Drag and Drop Math – Drag and drop numbers to complete traditional algorithms. Type the final answer in the box to check. Choose from addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division, select the number of digits in each problem, and decide on the number of problems to complete. View an instructional video here.

Glowla’s Estimation Contraption – Mentally round and add numbers and type in the answer. Round numbers to the tens place in the first level and progress to larger numbers.

Home Run Derby Math – Estimate your answer, click “done” and then “hit.” Game may be played with addition, subtraction, or multiplication problems and emphasizes skills in rounding numbers. View an instructional video here.

Mostly Postie – Click and drag package onto scales and enter weight in grams or kilograms.

Measure It! – View a segment next to a ruler and correctly identify its length. Levels include: easy inches (to the nearest half inch), medium inches (to the nearest fourth of an inch), hard inches (to the nearest eighth), and super brain inches (to the nearest sixteenth.)

The Ruler Game – Click on a ruler to identify the location of a given number. Choose from the following levels: wholes, halves, quarters, eighths, sixteenths.

Unit 5 – Geometry & Measurement

Alien Angles – Slide a bar to position a ray to estimate different angles in order to rescue lost space aliens.

Angle Shoot – Click on the correct figure in your choice of several arcade-style shooting games: angles in degrees, angles by name (right, obtuse, acute), triangles by name (scalene, equilateral, isoceles),

Cyberchase Symmetrizer – Move your mouse on the “symmetrizer” to experiment with Cyberchase character symmetry.

Reflective Symmetry in Shapes – Click on shapes to see lines of symmetry drawn automatically.

Shapes Sort – Click and drag a variety of shapes into the correct categories as they move along an assembly line. Sort by Quadrilaterals (categorized by 4 equal sides, 2 equal sides, no equal sides) or Triangles (equilateral, isosceles, scalene.) To locate this activity, look for “Shapes” toward the bottom of the home page.

Symmetry Sort – Click and drag shapes to sort by 0, 1, or 2 lines of reflective symmetry.

Triangle Sort – Drag and drop each triangle into the appropriate category. To locate this activity, look for “Triangle Sort” toward the bottom of the home page.

Airlines Builder – In this Cyberchase game, players must construct 3 different ships with the same perimeter by clicking and dragging edge pieces. After the ship is built, the “seats” are filled to show area. After finding all shapes with a perimeter of 8, find shapes with perimeter of 10.
